Alexander Barash

From 1985 until 1989, Alexander Barash (b. 1960) co-edited (along with Nikolai Baitov) one of the leading Moscow samizdat journals, Epsilon-Salon. Since 1989 he has lived in Jerusalem where he is on the staff of the Russian Section of the radio station ‘Voice of Israel’. He is the author of four books of poetry, Optical Focus (1992),Panic at Midday (1996), Mediterranean Note (2002), and Itinerary (2009), and of a memoir, A Happy Childhood (2006). His work has appeared in numerous journals, including 22, Mirror, Znamya, and Air
