Yoram Meital
Historian
Yoram Meital is a professor of Middle East studies at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. His research focuses on the political, social, cultural, and economic developments in Middle Eastern societies, and his interests extend to international politics, peace and conflict studies, diplomacy, and more. Currently, he is conducting a comprehensive study of a dozen Cairo synagogues, intending to provide a rereading of the ways in which different sectors of Cairene Jewry developed a modern Jewish-Egyptian identity.
Meital received his PhD from Haifa University and has held teaching and research positions at Harvard Law School, Skidmore College, Northeastern University, and Oxford University.
