Giuseppe Balzano graduated from the Université libre de Bruxelles specializing in Semitic Philology (Assyriology and
Egyptology) and pursued his advanced studies there in the History of Religion (Ancient and Medieval Judaism). He
worked at the Université libre de Bruxelles as a chief librarian at the Institute for the Study of Judaism and the Center
of Interdisciplinary Study of Religions and Secularism. After having moved to Venice Giuseppe works as the executive
director of Beit Venezia – House of Jewish Culture.
