Lecturer (Privatdozent) for Jewish Philosophy at the Philosophy Department of Heidelberg University
Prof. Krochmalnik's research focuses on Rabbinic thought and modern Jewish philosophy, especially philosophy and exegesis of the Haskala (Jewish Enlightenment). Moreover he teaches Jewish Religious thought, Jewish religious education and pedagogics at the Heidelberg College for Jewish Studies (Hochschule für Jüdische Studien Heidelberg). In this area his classes are designed for future teachers in Jewish religious thought.
Among his publications are Schriftauslegung (Biblical interpretation) in the "Neuer Stuttgarter Kommentar", Im Garten der Schrift, and numerous academic articles. He is Editor of the jubilee edition of Moses Mendelssohn's Collected Works (in German) as well as of Elie Wiesels Collected Works (see elie.wiesel.de).
